Chah Shirin Lead, Zinc & Barite Mine

Projects

“Chah Shirin” lead, zinc & barite mine with the area of 1 km2 is located in the southeast of Semnan province. At now, the mine is extracting by the contractor group. Further deposits can be gained by blasting operations & creating several working faces. There are five working faces in the mine.

To access the mine, after passing 60 km of the paved road from Semnan to “Moalleman”, Chahshirin two-way intersection will be appeared, then after passing 18 km of the unpaved road, you can enter the district from the west side.

Reserve type

Genesis: Mississippi Valley Type (MVT)

Mineralization Characteristics: Lead, Zinc & Barite mineralization as coarse-grained galena with barite, calcite and aragonite extends in carbonate unit of dolomite limestone. Tectonic activity (stock work and breccia) in this area at regional scales due to numerous faults is one of the factors causing mineralization in this area.

Amount of Reserve

Extension of mineralization in the area is approximately 500 m length and 5 to 10 m thickness, continuously.

Geological Features

Host rock: Dolomite limestone, Sand limestone, Shale & Marn.

Vision

At now, there are five working faces in the mine. Exploration is operating simultaneously with extraction by sampling and powders drilling. After blasting & wasting operations, production capacity can be increased by lead & barite concentration and processing operations by gravity methods.

Infrastructures

The paved road is 18 km away in the west side of the district and also exists an unpaved road to access the mine.

Ownership

Exploitation license with the No 55129 dated 02/19/2012 with 7 years operation’s period, belongs to Mr Manouchehr Jalaly.
